Liverpool are interested in securing a move for RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner in the summer transfer window and Bayern Munich are looking to capitalise on such a deal by offering Firmino the chance to secure a return to the Bundesliga.
According to The Sun, Bayern have made Firmino one of their main transfer targets at the end of the season and are prepared to pay the Reds £75million to sign the Brazilian.
The 28-year-old has been an instrumental player for Jurgen Klopp this season, and while the striker isn’t prolific in putting the ball into the back of the net, his link up play with Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah has been important in the club’s title challenge this season.
The Brazilian might have only scored 10 goals in 36 appearances this season, but his 12 assists and general all-round play has helped Liverpool.
The report claims Bayern see Firmino as the ideal player to link up with their main striker Robert Lewandowski.
Liverpool have been monitoring Werner’s position at RB Leipzig and while the team, who are currently second in the Bundesliga, didn’t want to sell the German international in the January window, a summer move hasn’t been completely ruled out.
The 23-year-old, whose current contract runs until 2023, has been in sensational form this season.
However, his arrival at Anfield would no doubt put Firmino’s starting place in jeopardy and if Bayern table a huge bid for the centre-forward it would leave Klopp with a difficult decision to make.
But Firmino isn’t the only Premier League star Bayern are considering making a move for in the summer, as they also want to bring Manchester City winger Leroy Sane to the Allianz Arena at the end of the season.
The 23-year-old has entered the final 18-months of his current deal at the Etihad and is considering leaving the club in the future.
Bayern were interested in signing the German youngster in the summer, but their pursuit was temporarily halted after he suffered an injury during City’s Community Shield win over Liverpool.
